Getting started

Registering Provider in Studio Barfinex

How to connect a Provider to Studio to get visual monitoring, metrics, and control over every event inside the provider.

🚀 What the Studio terminal gives you

The Studio terminal is not just “yet another interface” — it’s the place where your data, strategies, and infrastructure meet.
When a Provider exists only on the server, you see its state through logs and metrics; once you connect it to Studio, the picture becomes live and visual.

Why register a Provider in Studio Barfinex

Even if Barfinex Provider is already running, it is important to connect it to Studio Barfinex:

  • Visual health monitoring
    You immediately see whether the provider is alive, whether there are errors, and how the exchange connection feels.

  • Real‑time data monitoring
    Charts, tables, events — you can instantly see that Barfinex Provider is actually streaming data.

  • Diagnostics and strategy debugging
    You can verify that signals, orders, and events flow exactly as you expect.

  • Single control panel
    If you have several Barfinex Provider instances (testnet, prod, different exchanges), Studio lets you manage them from a single place.

High‑level connection flow

  1. Start Barfinex Provider following the steps from the “Quick start Barfinex Provider” section.
  2. Make sure the Barfinex Provider API is available over HTTPS (for example, https://your-domain.com/api).
  3. Log in to https://studio.barfinex.com with your account.
  4. Go to the section responsible for provider management (for example, “Data Sources” or “Barfinex Providers”).
  5. Create a new Barfinex Provider:
    • set a name (for example, Binance Spot Prod);
    • specify the API URL (base URL of your Barfinex Provider);
    • optionally add a description and tags (testnet/prod etc.).
  6. Save the settings and make sure the Barfinex Provider status switches to “Online” (or a similar indicator).

⚠️ Exact section names and field labels may differ between Studio versions.
This page explains why and roughly how to connect; a detailed click‑by‑click guide with screenshots can live in a separate document.

What you’ll see after connecting

Once Barfinex Provider is registered in Studio:

  • a card for your Provider appears in the interface with its current status;
  • base metrics become available (uptime, latest errors, service version);
  • you can view data streams and events produced by Barfinex Provider;
  • it becomes easier to tell whether an issue is in a strategy, the exchange connection, or the infrastructure.

Integration recap

  • Barfinex Provider without Studio is a “black box” on a server.
  • Barfinex Provider connected to Studio is a transparent, observable component within the Barfinex ecosystem.
  • We recommend registering every Barfinex Provider instance (dev/stage/prod, different exchanges) for convenient monitoring and operations.
